Are You Pursuing Your Dreams?

Or are you running from your fears?

I was listening to an audio recording recently. The point of the message was about motivation. Steve Siebold provides multiple self-mastery products. Essentially, his programs, like Mental Toughness, provide commonly held beliefs of “successful people.”

One of the ideas he discusses grabbed my attention lately. What motivates you?

Two Driving Forces

Tony Robbins teaches that there are (only) two options for behavior change. Either move toward what we want (towards pleasure) or move away from what we don’t want (avoiding pain).

Managers, parents, teachers and many others have probably found that the negative consequences (moving away from what we don’t want) have a more dramatic impact on behavior change than the positive consequences.

Self-Reflection Time

But, like the Lewis Carroll quote goes, “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.”

So, at the end of this year, do you want to be on the same downward spiraling path you are on now? Or are you ready to imagine a new world that can become reality?

    Nice post Rachel,

Its very true moving away from fear tends to impact more people more people will do more to move away from what they don’t want.

Where as “wants” for the majority of people are just that wants/ wishes.

If you really want something bad enough you got to change it to a “need”, change I want to be successful to I need to be successful!

Successful people think and act differently to the other 98%

Nice post, I especially like the ‘self-reflection’ time. Self-reflection allows CLARITY which is needed if you want to get things done. Love the quotes too.

Personal development is the key to success 😀
